CURD SAMBAR
Curd sambar is typically brahmin style recipe. This is a unique sambar recipe. This is quick and easy to make. This is popularly known as majjige huli.
Ingredients:
List A:
1. Grated coconut – 1 Cup
2. Ginger – 2 inch
3. Jeera – 1 Table spoon
4. Roasted gram – 3 Table spoon
5. Coriander – 3 stems
6. Green chilly – 6
List B:
1. Ash gourd – 1/4 Kg
2. Curd – 1/2 Litre
3. Oil – 1 Table spoon
4. Jeera – 1 Table spoon
5. Asafoetida – 1/4 Tea spoon
6. Curry leaves – 6-7 leaves
7. Turmeric – 1/2 Tea spoon
8. Salt
Procedure for making curd sambar:
1. Cook ash gourd in a boiling water for 10mins.
2. Grind all the ingredients in the list A.
3. In a pan, take oil, add jeera and curry leaves.
4. Add the above prepared mixture ,turmeric and give it a nice fry for 3-4 minutes.
5. Add the cooked ash gourd and add salt as per your taste.
6. Let it simmer and then serve hot.
Serves: 4
Tastes better with ragi ball and rice.
SECRET TIPS:
1. Don’t grind the ingredients into fine paste.
2. Don’t cook the ash gourd in a cooker, it’ll become paste.
