DRY VEGETABLE PULAV
Dry vegetable pulav is a south indian breakfast recipe. This contains all the vegetables and also not heavy since we are not using coconut and any other masala.
Ingredients for dry vegetable pulav:
1. mixed vegetables
(beans, carrot, potato) – 1 Cup
2. Rice – 1 Cup
3. Oil – 1/4 Cup
4. Mustard – 1 tea spoon
5. Onion – 2
6. Tomato – 1
7. Peas – 100g
8. Green chilly – 6
9. Ginger – 1 inch
10. Coriander powder – 1 Table spoon
11. Cinnamon – 2 stick
12. Cloves – 3
13. Curry leaves
14. Garlic – 7-8
15. Mint – 7-8 stems
16. Salt
Procedure for making dry vegetable pulav:
1. In a cooker, heat the oil and add mustard, cinnamon, cloves, crushed ginger and garlic or ginger-garlic paste, green chilly, onion and saute it until the onion turns golden brown.
2. Add mixed vegetables, peas, tomato and fry for 5-6 minutes.
3. Add rice and fry for 2 more minutes.
4. Add 2 1/2 cup of water ( 2 cups for rice and 1/2 cup for vegetables) and salt as per your taste and stir well.
5. When it starts boiling, close the lid and let it cook for 15 minutes.
6. Once it’s done, mix well and serve.
Serves: 4
Tastes better with Raita.
SECRET TIPS:
Fry the rice when added to the cooker for it to be non sticky.
