FRENCH FRIES AT HOME
We all love French fries. Well, who doesn’t?? Don’t you love it even more when it’s homemade?? If you have potatoes at home, then you can make french fries at home whenever you want.
Ingredients:
1. Potato – 3 – 4
2. Salt to taste
3. Pepper to taste
4. Oil for deep frying
Procedure for making french fries at home:
1. Peel off the skin of potatoes.
2. Cut it into thick slices or to the required size.
3. Cut those slices into finger sized pieces.
4. Soak all the pieces in ice cold water for 20 minutes. This helps in making fries crispy.
5. After 20 minutes rest the pieces in hot boiling water for 10 minutes. This helps potato to cook slightly and fasten the process of frying.
6. After 10 minutes, take out the potato pieces from water and drain off all the water using a kitchen towel.
7. Furthermore, keep the drained pieces in a plate or tray and freeze it for 1 hour.
8. Deep fry in a hot oil for 3 minutes on medium flame. Or till it softens and cook the potatoes through.
9. Let the fried potatoes cool completely.
10. Now on high flame, deep fry for second time till it turns golden brown and crispy.
11. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
SECRET TIPS:
If you are storing it for later use, freeze it for 4 hours. That helps in making potatoes firm.
