KODU BALE
Rainy season is about to start, so get set to munch something spicy while sipping your favorite beverage when it’s pouring heavily. Previously I had shared Curd kodu bale recipe which is instant and have to consume it when it’s hot. ( if you have not seen the recipe of curd kodu bale here it is- curd kodu bale) But this kodu bale is not instant, you can make this whenever you’re free and can munch it till it lasts. Recipe goes like this
Ingredients:
1. Rice flour – 2 cup
2. Fried gram – 1/2 cup
3. Chilli powder – 2 tablespoon
4. Sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
5. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tablespoon
6. Oil – 3 tablespoon + for deep frying
7. Coconut – 1/2 cup
8. Salt
9. Soda – 1 teaspoon
Procedure for making kodu bale :
1. In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, sesame seeds, cumin seeds and mix well.
2. Grind fried gram into a fine powder and add it into the mixing bowl.
3. Grind coconut for 2-3 rounds and transfer into the mixing bowl.
4. Add chilli powder, salt and soda to the bowl and mix well.
5. Heat the oil in a separate container and add it into the mixing bowl.
6. Add water to the mixture in batches to make dough.
7. Take small ball sized dough to make a pipe like structure and join the ends.
8. Make 10-15 at once and deep fry them in oil for about 10-12 minutes in medium flame.
It can be Stored in a dry air tight container for 5-7 days. But I don’t think it’ll last for 5 days since it tastes so good 😉
SECRET TIP:
Adding hot oil makes kodubale crispy and crunchy.
